45% of Britons Would Elect Queen Over Politicians

A survey of UK voters taken this week by British T-Shirt printing company 1ClickPrint has revealed that over 45% of the British public would rather see the Queen returned to power than any of the current political parties.

April 19, 2010 (FPRC) — Sheffield, UK – A survey of UK taken this week voters by British T-Shirt printing company 1ClickPrint (http://www.1clickprint.com) has revealed that over 45% of the British public would rather see the Queen returned to power than any of the current political parties.

The Queen took gained three times as many votes as her nearest rival who were Labour with 15.44% of the votes.

The voters were asked ‘Who would you like to be running the country after the coming election?’
The Queen: 45.59%
Labour: 15.44%
Conservatives: 14.71%
Lib Dem: 12.50%
Other: 11.76%

The survey taken of 1ClickPrint.com existing customers and was run between the 12th of April and the 19th of April with 270 respondents.

1ClickPrint.com Managing Director Jamie Turner commented ‘Whilst I don’t think that we’ll be seeing Her Majesty retaking power any time soon I think the British public’s faith in Politicians has taken a real beating recently. Maybe our survey gives us a glimpse as to how many people will be actually be willing to make a protest vote this election’

If the actual general election vote reflected the 1ClickPrint.com survey then Labour would retain only 5 seats in the commons with both the Lib Dems and Conservatives failing to hold on to a single seat. The Queen would have 645 seats to occupy.*

*The BBC election seat calculator was used to estimate the number of seats each party would retain after the election with the Queen assumed to be the other party.
